Data Sources and Devices
General Information
Sedrix supports devices from the following modules:
Vibration measurement
Tachymeter
Logger
Inclinometer
The following page provides further information on the individual types of devices and data sources.
Vibration Measurement Devices
Sedrix currently supports the following vibration measurement module devices:
Menhir (Firma Semex EngCon GmbH),
MR3000 (Firma Syscom Instruments SA).
Device View – Vibration Devices
The device view of a vibration measurement device first shows a navigation bar at the top, which indicates the project(s) to which that device is assigned. The name of the device is displayed to the left below this. In the top right, beneath the device symbol , the context menu can be reached as normal via the “Device” label. This menu contains the “Edit” command, which opens the Edit mode of the device and where the device’s properties can be edited.
Properties
Displays general properties of the device, such as type, name, serial number and version. Also shows the start date for data imports, along with the date/time of the last transfer of data, shown separately according to background, event and health data (health data only with Menhir devices).
Device Measuring Points
Lists the device measuring points made available to the device, along with essential properties, in particularly
Measuring Point: Name of the device measuring point. Clicking on this name opens a further Detail view for the device measuring point. See Device Measuring Point View.
Last Background Data: Date/time of the most recent transfer of background data.
Last Event: Date/time of the most recent event.
Assignments: The number of assignments, that is the number of (Sedrix) measuring points to which the device measuring point is currently connected (or assigned). A list of these measuring points is shown in the device measuring point view (reached by clicking on the name).
Health Data (last four weeks ) - only for Menhir devices
Displays a diagram of the battery, supply and voltage data from the last four weeks. If no data is available for this period, a text box with the words ‘No Data Available’ will be shown.
To reach the Edit mode from this view, in order to edit these properties, please carry out the “Edit” command in the context menu. This is done by clicking on the name of the device below the device symbol in the top right.
Device Measuring Point View - Vibration Devices
At the top of the Device Measuring Points View for vibration devices, there is a navigation bar. This shows the affiliation of the device measuring point with the device.
Below this, to the left, is the name of the device measuring point. At the top right, beneath the Device Measuring Points symbol , the context menu can be reached as usual via the “Device Measuring Points” label. Here, the menu only contains the “Update” command.
Otherwise, this view contains the following sections:
Assignments
Lists of (Sedrix) measuring points which are linked with these device measuring points (i.e. to which these device measuring points are assigned).
Tachymeter Devices
Currently Sedrix supports the following tachymeter module devices:
Tachymeter control device “Glötzl MCC TS” (GLÖTZL Gesellschaft für Baumesstechnik mbH)
The MCC TS is not a measuring device. Instead, it is used to control one or more tachymeters connected to it as actual measuring devices. It is also responsible for transferring data to the Sedrix.Generic tachymeter:
In a tachymeter control device (or the connected tachymeters), one or more instrument measuring points, and one or more measuring points (geo points) per instrument measuring point can be defined as “data-bearing elements”. Both elements are also mapped in the Sedrixand are used there for the configuration of (Sedrix) tachymeter measuring points: They are used in the definition of so-called assignments which define the measurement data available in the (Sedrix) measuring point.
Device View - Tachymeter Devices
The device view of a tachymeter device first shows a navigation bar at the top, which indicates the project(s) to which that device is assigned. The name of the device is displayed to the left below this, above the current connection state. In the top right, beneath the device symbol , the context menu can be reached as normal via the “Device” label. This menu contains the “Edit” command which opens the Edit mode of the device, where the device’s properties can be edited.
Otherwise, this view contains the following sections:
Properties
Displays general properties of the device, such as type, name, serial number and version, and also the start date for data imports.
Device Measuring Points
Lists the device measuring points made available to the device, along with essential properties
Measuring Point: Name of the device measuring point. Clicking on this name opens a further Detail view for the device measuring point. See Device Measuring Point View.
Last Measurement: The time of the device measuring point’s most recent measurement
Assignments: The number of assignments, that is the number of (Sedrix) measuring points to which the device measuring point is currently connected (or assigned). A list of these measuring points is shown in the device measuring point view (reached by clicking on the name).
Files (from version 2.11)
Lists the files that have been uploaded to the device. Allows further files to be uploaded. See File Storage.
To reach the Edit mode from this view, in order to edit these properties, carry out the “Edit” command in the context menu. This is done by clicking on the name of the device beneath the device symbol in the top right.
Device Measuring Point View - Tachymeter Devices
At the top of the Device Measuring Points View for tachymeter devices, there is a navigation bar. This shows the affiliation of the device measuring point with the device.
Below this, to the left, is the name of the device measuring point, above the current SmartFilter time period. Click on the SmartFilter icon to set this time period accordingly. At the top right, beneath the Device Measuring Points symbol, the context menu can be reached as usual via the “Device Measuring Points” label. Here, the menu only contains the “Update” command.
Otherwise, this view contains the following sections.
Assignments
Lists of (Sedrix) measuring points which are connected to these device measuring points (i.e. to which these device measuring points are assigned).
Measurements
Lists of measurements for this device measuring point, with essential properties such as
Measurement Time: The time of the measurement. Clicking on this entry opens a further Detail view (measurement view)
Duration
Status: Status of the measurement (e.g. “Started”, “Completed”, “Error”)
Transmissions and Fixed Point Transmissions: Number of the required and actual measured transmissions
Environment: Details of the environmental conditions at the time of the measurement (temperature, atmospheric pressure)
Tachymeter Inclination: Details of the positioning of the tachymeter
Measuring Points
Lists of measuring points with essential properties such as
Name: Name of the measuring point. Clicking on this opens a further Details view (measurement view)
Fixed Point: A check indicates a fixed point
Last Measurement: Time of the most recent measurement for this measuring point
Measured Values: Measured values of the last measurement for the three coordinate axes (E, N and H, or Y, X and Z, depending on the chosen coordinate system)
Tachymeter: Measurement Point View
At the top of the measuring point view for tachymeter devices, there is a navigation bar. This shows the affiliation of the measuring point to both the device measuring point and the device.
Below this to the left is the name of the measuring point, above the current SmartFilter time period. Click on the SmartFilter icon to set this period accordingly.
In the top right, the context menu can be reached as usual via the “Measuring Point” label. This menu contains the following commands:
“Update”
“Edit measured values”: Used to manually alter measured values, i.e. to correct known errors in the values. The original value is preserved and can be restored. If this command is carried out, a dialog is opened in which you can specify the time period of the data being altered (as three coordinates). There is also the option to hide data or mark data as invalid (see the respective values for the “Marker” column below). You can also undo any previous changes.
Otherwise, this view contains the following sections:
Measurements
Lists of measured values with times and values, along with the number of transmissions.
Further columns:
Markers: Gives details on markers set while editing measured values (see the description of the corresponding context menu command above), i.e. “Transducer failure”, “Hidden”.
Error: Status or error code for the measured value.
Tachymeter: Measurement View
At the top of the measurement view for tachymeter devices, there is a navigation bar. This shows the assignment of the measuring point to both the device measuring point and the device.
Below this to the left is the time of the measurement.
In the top right, beneath the Measurements symbol , the context menu can be reached as usual via the “Measurement” label. This menu only contains the “Update” command.

Measuring Points
Here, the measuring points for which the measurement was carried out at the specified time are listed.
Clicking on the name of a measuring point opens a further Detail view, the measuring point view which displays a list of measurements for this measuring point.
Log
Here, the measurement log entries of the device from which the measurement data was uploaded to Sedrix are listed.

Logger Devices
Sedrix currently supports the following logger module/type devices:
Glötzl MCC (GLÖTZL Gesellschaft für Baumesstechnik mbH)
Glötzl Logger (GLÖTZL Gesellschaft für Baumesstechnik mbH)
Virtual data logger: Used to retrieve measurement data from a web service such as “Pegel Online WSV” by Sedrix.
Generic data logger (from version 2.12): Used to read logger data given as a specifically formatted file (e.g. from manual measurements).
It is therefore not a “real” device in the sense of a physical measuring device, but is formally and technically treated as such in Sedrix. This means that it can be treated by the user just like other (logger) devices.
Logger: Device View
The device view of a logger device first shows a navigation bar at the top, which indicates the project(s) to which that device is assigned.
The name of the device is displayed to the left below this.
In the top right, beneath the device symbol , the context menu can be reached as normal via the ‘Device’ label. This menu contains the command ‘Edit’, which opens the Edit mode of the device and where the device’s properties can be edited.
Properties
Displays general properties of the device, such as type, name, serial number and version. Also shows the start date for data imports, along with the import folder.
Channels
Lists the device channels along with essential properties:
Name: Clicking on the name of the channel opens a further Detail View for the device channel. See Device Channel View.
Channel Number: Unique channel number across all devices.
Time of Last Measurement and Last Measured Value plus Unit
Channel Assignments: The number of assignments, that is, to how many Sedrix measuring points each channel is currently connected (i.e. assigned). A list of these measuring points is shown in the device channel view (reached by clicking on the channel name).
Files (from version 2.11)
Lists the files imported to the device. Allows the import of further files (see File Storage).
To reach the Edit mode from this view, in order to edit these properties, carry out the “Edit” command in the context menu (reached by clicking on the name of the device beneath the device symbol in the top right).
Logger: Device Channel View
The Device Channel View for logger devices first displays a navigation bar at the top, which indicates the affiliation of the device channel to the device.
To the left below this, the name of the device channel is displayed, along with the current SmartFilter period. Click on the SmartFilter icon to adjust this period as needed.
In the upper right corner, below the device channel label “Channel”, a context menu is accessible as usual. This menu contains the following commands:
“Update”
“Edit measured values”: Used to manually change measured values, for example to correct known errors within the data. The original measured values are preserved and can also be restored. See the Measurements section below. If this command is carried out, a dialogue is opened. Here, it is possible to specify the period of the measurement data to be changed and the new measured value. There are also options to hide or invalidate measurements as well as to undo previous changes. See the corresponding values for the “Marker” column below.
Otherwise, this view is divided into the following sections:
Channel Assignments
A list of (Sedrix) measuring points that use this (device) channel i.e. to which this channel is assigned.
Measured Values
A list of measured values with times and values. The values are divided into original and current (or as the case may be, edited) values. (Via the “Edit measured values” command in the context menu, see above.)
Further columns:
Marker: Provides information about markers set when editing the measured values (“transducer failure”, “hidden”). See the description of the corresponding context menu command above.
Error: Status or error code of the measured values.
Files (from version 2.11)
Lists the files imported to the device. Allows the import of further files (see File Storage).
Inclinometer Data Source
Sedrix currently supports the following types of data sources of the type/module “Inclinometer”:

Inclinometer: Device View
The device view of inclinometer data sources first shows a navigation bar at the top, which shows the affiliation of the data source to a project.
Below that is the name of the device.
In the top right, below the device symbol a context menu can be reached as usual via the “Device” label, which in particular contains the “Edit” command to open the edit mode of the data source in order to edit its properties.
Properties
Displays general properties of the data source such as name, serial number and version.
In addition, the start date for the data import.
Import measuring points
All import measuring points assigned to the data source are listed here, with name, import folder, date of the last measurement and number of assignments.
The respective measuring point can be edited on a detail page via the edit icon .
Clicking on the name of the measuring point leads to a more detailed measuring point view.
Files
Lists the files uploaded to a data source. Allows you to upload additional files (see File Storage).
Clicking on the plus icon opens a dialog box in which further files can be selected and uploaded.
